Professional photo shoot

Our dear friend and ridiculously talented Seattle-based photographer, Sarah Jurado, shot the three of us in Lincoln Park in West Seattle yesterday. Eli was at his crankiest, but she managed to capture us beautifully between crying bouts. She's amazing!

Prints can be ordered from this site.

Seattle: Jetlag

Seattle: Backyard idyll

Mr. Venegas, Daniel and the kid

Seattle: Lunch with Grandpa Dave and Nanna

This is my dad's booth at McCormick and Schmick's in downtown Seattle. The plaque on the wall actually says "The Dave Davis Suite". The menus for the day said "Thanks, Dave, for bringing in the grandkid!" across the top.

Eli exerts his will on the universe part I: rolling over

One moment, Eli is playing happily on the floor on his back. We both turn away for a second, then Dad looks down and sees this:

!!!!

This is actually the second time he's done it by himself. The first time was earlier this week, witnessed only by Auntie Erica and resulted in both arms being pinned under his body.

Next on Eli's agenda of self-determinism: sitting up unassisted, and crawling. Updates forthcoming.

And now for something completely different!

Baby Daniel!

Not so different after all.

Baby Daniel, Eli's Grandpa Bob, and Grandpa Bob's impressive beard.

Eli's new form of communication

Just in time to go stay with Mimi and Mr. Venegas for 3 weeks! They'll love it!

Eli plays with his blanky

I love to play with my blanket.

But it usually ends up on my face.

Holy smokes! There's a light on the ceiling!

Blanky + ceiling light make me ridiculously happy.
